Tangier was not in our main plan as main stop area. We switch to Tangier instead Casablanca later sebab the location of Tangiers more access to Spain/Gibraltar and Chefchaoen. Kalau dari Casablanca nak daytrip dah rugi masa atas transport nak ketiga2 tempat ni.
From Marrakesh we take the train to Casablanca, boleh rasa desert feel surrounding due to Marrakesh location. The following train to Tangier from Casablanca more green and sea view sebab dah coastal route. Pass by the modern Rabat (Governance city). The train system connecting major cities in Morocco is punctual, fast, multiple trips and efficient. Tapi harga mahal unless book early. Always book on the official website.
View of Rabat and desert of marrakesh during train ride.
We decided to stay near to ferry port sebab nak ke Spain/Gibraltar (masuk europe lagi!) on next following morning. The hostel had amazing view from the rooftop, view of the ferry port, corniches(pantai) dan europe continent (spain) from a far. Keliling hostel pun banyak kedai2 makan. The only drawback is you have to hustle your big luggage in crowd tourist area of the old bazaar where the entrance was.
3 person ensuite with breakfast. RM101/person/night.
Overall Tangier is relaxing city, the best city (for me) ranked during the visit. Bandar pun lebih bersih compared to Marrakesh, probably due to less poverty and much more ethical city living. Makan pun consider murah dan view bandar dia banyak tempat cantik. Just beware if planning to stay in the city, is hilly area, instead old bazaar area.
Day time around the old bazaar scenic view.
Late evening around the old bazaar scenic view. Due to summer time the Mediterranean spectacular orange sky last longer. Cantik gila, click and enlarge the picture.
Night time round the city, corniche and old bazaar area.
Tangier city was so lively sebelah malam, local residences flocked the corniches since senja untuk picnic dan lepak sampai malam. Lebih kepada family oriented punya city. Malam2 penuh lelaki minum di kedai kopi, we observed seating semua facing road. Memang style macam tu kedai kopi.
We observed the western part of the city, aside from old bazaar/corniches where local and students resides. Ada garden besar area bus station (to Chefchaouen) at the west part petang2 student picnic and jogging.
Another later evening chilling for the sunset, supper and relax on the hostel porch, our last night in Morocco (before descend to Casablanca to get flight to Cairo)
Tangier juga terkenal dengan tempat kelahiran Ibn Battuta
Although Tangier serve as transit hub city for our actual daytrip destination such as Spain/Gibraltar dan Chefchaoen, this city remain the best we visited due to its natural location and cleanness.
Touring the Tangiers during evening/night time.
